Iraqi Swedish Cultural Exchange

Join the American Swedish Institute and IARP for a summer evening of cultural exchange on the ASI lawn! Listen to Iraqi and Swedish musical performances by award-winning violinist, composer and singer Layth Sidiq. Try your hand at games like kubb and tawleh, learn a dance or two, or make a craft like a cuneiform clay tablet or Arabic calligraphy.

Sample some classic Swedish pastries and Iraqi desserts like baklava, znod alsit, and mushabak. Along with coffee and Iraqi tea, which is a delicious heavy brew of black tea served with sugar and flavored with cardamom. Attendees can also take a break from the action to visit the ASI Turnblad Mansion which will be open during the event.
